Concrete Bridge sections are sometime constructed above their final grade to allow traffic to flow under the Bridge during construction. After construction the Bridge has to be lowered 2 to 4 feet to match up with roadway leading to the bridge.

C. H. Bull Company supplied 6-250 ton jacks to create a 1500 ton jacking system. The system included all the pumps, hydraulic hoses, manifolds and gauges. This system allowed the contractor to lower the 4 lane bridge section spanning both the north and south bound lanes of Highway 101 in Santa Rosa in one 8 hour shift.
